Our 45th Reunion

It’s been 45 years in the making, but now it’s time! Our high school campus has grown into a small city. We may be older, but we continue to get better looking! Like a fine wine, we’ve mellowed with age and you just can’t get any smoother (Oh wait!! That really applies to the bald guys – you know who you are).

Looking back, we grew up during a magical time. Before there was social media, before the internet, heck – the only real computers were the venerable Radio Shack TRS-80 and the good old, Apple II.

Music has changed, but maybe not our musical tastes. We remember when “Classic Rock” was just “Rock”. But our favorites are still jamming: Styx, REO Speedwagon, Journey, Earth, Wind and Fire, Chicago, Alabama – of course they’re all playing the Casino Circuit nowadays (and I don’t mean Las Vegas).

Our little two-lane Highway 152 is now 4 and 5-lane. Mustang Road hasn’t been a dirt road in decades.

Man, how the time has flown.

The weekend of October 16-17th has been selected for our 45th Reunion. A chance to talk about the fond and fun memories of our youth (and most of which were real).

Here’s an outline of the plan:

  • Friday October 16th, starting at 5:30 – 6:00PM-ish, we’re going to have a casual meetup at The Wheeler District in Oklahoma City. It is just south of I-40 on Western Ave (just south of the Ferris Wheel). For more details and to RSVP, go to: 45th Reunion – Friday Night Mixer. It’ll be fun and it’s free.
  • Saturday October 17th, starting at 5:30PM, we’re going to have the actual Reunion party. We’ll be havin’ a hoedown as the Hi-D-Ho. And if that sounds too strenuous, just translate that to having dinner with your friends in a fun atmosphere (no Mechanical Bull Rides, we promise!). This will be our third event at the Hi-D-Ho, but in case you missed the first two, it is located just west of Morgan Rd on the south side of SW 89th Street. For more details and to register and pay, go to:  45th Reunion – Saturday Night Party
If you’d be interested in playing golf Saturday morning, please let Clay know and we can organize a plan.

Like the 40th, we’re also opening the event up to everyone that is/was from the Class of 81 that we ever went to school with (K-12 in Mustang). That includes the likes of Joey Tinsley, Darla Pitts, Kevin Eaton, Cindy Metts, Lyndle Smith, Gidget Shultz, Janelle Parker… just to name a few. If you know how to contact anyone from our past, please let them know about this page.

And in case you missed it five years ago, here’s a little project that Clay put together during that weird time after 2020. It’s a picture of everyone we ever went to class with, K-12, from all of the yearbooks we were in. It’s a series of spreadsheets that have the individual photos embedded in them. It will help you recall both the people we graduated with and the aforementioned that graduated from elsewhere, like Billy Ward, Patrick Starr, Terry Harper and Eric Poulsen.
