SUMMARY:Saturday Night Party
DESCRIPTION:The moment you’ve been waiting for\, for the past 40 years is finally here! On Saturday night\, September 18th\, a bunch of old people will be gathering somewhere in Oklahoma City. They’ll park their walkers\, smear on some Mentholatum® Deep Heating Rub\, and get ready for a rousing afternoon of bingo! \nMeanwhile\, those of us from the Mustang High School Class of 1981 will be meeting for Reunion 40! Slim\, trim and virile – that’s us (well\, at least in our minds). \nPeople will be attending from across the universe\, so you don’t want to miss out. We’ve invited anyone and everyone that we ever were in class with during our K-12 years in school. Even if they didn’t graduate with us\, they are still a part of us. So\, share the word and let people know. Share this link mhs1981.com/40 to share the love. \nWe’ll be gathering at the Crew Workspace meeting venue in downtown OKC (map link) for an evening of fellowship and fun! (see below about the food) \n\nThe Main Street Arcade\, home of Crew Workspace \n\nWe’ll supply Tea and Lemonade. If you want something harder than that\, then it’s BYOBeverage. Crew Workspace does have their own liquor license\, so we should be covered. And with all things\, drink responsibly and don’t drink and drive. \n\nFood:\nDue to the low response rate and the high food minimum purchase\, we’ve opted to encourage everyone to grab a bite before attending. There are a number of really nice restaurants near the venue. Here are some suggestions: \n\nThe Jones Assembly – 901 W Sheridan Ave (5 blocks away) – https://goo.gl/maps/McuAJC1Ckc6Y9hj37 – reservations recommended\nPatrono – 305 N. Walker (4 blocks away) – https://goo.gl/maps/Ju6bM8wPEKLJyKw17 – reservations recommended\nBar Arbolada – 637 W Main (1 block away) – https://goo.gl/maps/BXaRsUVXmesDWC4E8 – no idea about reservations\nJoey’s Pizza – 700 W Sheridan (2 blocks away) – https://goo.gl/maps/rybSQ3NQfSA74itr8 – reservations not required\n\nThere are numerous places in the downtown and midtown areas\, these were just the close ones. Feel free to grab a #1 at Sonic in Mustang\, but please get it without onions because  we don’t want any “onion breath” in attendance. \nFree parking is conveniently across Main Street. \nClick here for COVID Guidance\nThe Reunion and COVID\nFirst\, masks and vaccines can be “triggering” subjects\, whether you believe in them or not. It’s safe to say that we have both extremes within our ranks and all points in between on the subject. (and if you want to debate it\, please go somewhere else to do so)\nMany within this group have lost family members\, and as a class\, we’ve lost at least two of us because of this dastardly disease: Monte Moyer and Doug Carmin.\nThe Committee has discussed how we’re going to proceed with the Reunion in light of COVID:\n\n\nFirst\, we recognize that we’re all rational adults who are capable of making our own decisions.\n\n\nWe’re not in favor of requiring masks. However\, if it makes you feel more comfortable\, you won’t be disparaged for wearing one. And likewise\, you won’t be disparaged for not wearing one. Masks are not required\, but respect is expected.\n\n\nMost of us are probably out in the public sphere every day and are around people that are unmasked and haven’t gotten a shot. So\, if Social Distancing is effective out in the world\, then our venue is big enough to support it. Please respect everyone’s personal space.\n\n\n\nWe are going to supply a wrist bracelet for everyone to wear one. It will not reveal your vaccination state\, but it will communicate your social preference. The bracelets are color-coded: red\, yellow\, green. Where: \nRED – Don’t touch me and please maintain a safe distance\nYellow – I’m good with a fist bump\, but make it quick\nGREEN – Hug me\, I’m yours \nWe will bring some of the bracelets Friday night and we’ll have them at check-in. There’s an additional cost for these\, but it will be a worthwhile expense. \n\n\n\nWe will also have a few bottles of hand sanitizer at the venue on Saturday night. But feel free to bring your own. \n\n\n\nIf you have any questions\, feel free to reach out to Terra (if you’re cranky or there’s a problem) or Clay (if you have good things to say). Terra’s email\, Clay’s email. \nNotes:\n\nWe do require all attendees to pay the nominal $25 per person. If you are financially unable to pay\, please contact Clay or Terra and we’ll make sure your costs are covered.\nWe will be accepting CASH payments at the door\, but please contact Terra or Clay and let them know that’s your plan.\nYour registration information will be collected by PayPal when you pay with your credit card.\nYour credit card statement will say NICNAT NET\, this is a company owned by Clay Scott. He’s pretty trustworthy\, so the money will go where it needs to go (and not to Cancun).\nWe have a $500.00 minimum for the food truck\, but shouldn’t have any trouble meeting it\, so long as everyone eats dinner there.\nThe venue is $750.00\, so most of the ticket price is covering the venue.\nThe venue requires insurance\, so that will cost $250.00.\nThe Social Distance bracelets (see COVID Guidance) cost about $100.00.\nAny excess funds will be (a) applied to any food underage\, (b) held for future use by our class.

SUMMARY:Friday Night Mixer
DESCRIPTION:On the evening of Friday\, September 17th\, we’ll all meet up at Social Capital* in Oklahoma City. We’ll start gathering at 5:30PM but we’ll be there awhile. And while it’s not the Bronco Corral of the 70’s (no Pac-man or Space Invaders ☹)\, it is a great hangout. Also\, they serve food (menu) and beverages (beer menu) that are much better than what the Millers served at The Corral. \n \nThis is a casual event and there’s no cost to attend. There’s loads of parking around and it has a great view of Scissortail Park\, which is right across the street. For those wanting a night on the town\, the brand new OMNI hotel is right across the park. \nWe do ask that you RSVP below\, so we’ll have an idea of how many to expect. \nPeople will be attending from across the universe (including California)\, so you don’t want to miss out. We’ve invited anyone and everyone that we ever were in class with during our K-12 years in school. Even if they didn’t graduate with us\, they are still a part of us. So\, share the word and let people know. \nAnd don’t forget about the Saturday Night Shindig! Just click here to go to the registration page. And if you’re available don’t wimp out and just go to the Friday night party. \nClick here for COVID Guidance\nThe Reunion and COVID\nFirst\, masks and vaccines can be “triggering” subjects\, whether you believe in them or not.
